#09 The Hunting Season (guns not included)

Chic City Rats invites you to an imaginary hunting party. What we really do here is capture live animals - more precisely, their image and the spirit of the woods. Let's put our rifles down somewhere and wander among the giant trees, in an exotic forest where the birches of the Great North stand next to the Japanese cypress and Africa's tamarind tree.

A Fauchon delight in hand, lost in a mist fragrant with Epicéa, we'll come across paintings by Oudry leaning on a trunk, zoomorphic alphabets with capering letters, plush animals, and, through a slight opening between tangled branches, we'll even catch a glance of two peaceful stags who accessorized their antlers with a flower. Choice game for our trophy room, where animals roam freely in a vast hall adorned with snail shells and weird mushrooms.

In this fantastic forest pass handsome boys. They will be ensnared by our charms, a glorious bait enhanced by Stila, Paul & Joe, Kiehl's or Shu Uemura, to lure their gaze as that of a startled animal's. Trust us to make them forget all about the beautiful Ophelia parading in the river.

In the end of the day we'll come home to our lands, greeted by the owl's hoot. Before a great fire we'll rest at last. On the floor, on the walls, and on the tables, everywhere we lay our eyes, is a reminder of our special hunt of the day, and an invitation to start again tomorrow and drive the beautiful things out of their lair.
