Rose and Jean-Claude Carrarini used to work in fashion. They'd travel all over the world. The birds escorted them everywhere. Until they noticed that, just like the birds, what was on their plate for lunch interested them far more than the cuts and fabrics they had discussed all morning. Thus they launched an organic gourmet shop in London, a pionneering venture as early as 1988. And then flew off again before settling down, under the advice of the birds, in the Parisian rue des Martyrs, where they opened the very delicious store known as Rose Bakery in 2002. Rose let Phaidon in on one hundred of her best recipes, for extraordinary little meals from dawn till dusk - and after that still.
